"Poesia sin palabras"
A solo exhibition by Pango.
26 August to 25 September at the Löwengalerie, Lucerne.
We are very pleased to be able to present this great artist live. In Cuba he is a star - and in Lucerne soon too.
Barbaro M. Reyes Mesa, Pango's real name, was born on November 15, 1971 in Matanzas, Cuba. He became interested in fine arts and photography at an early age. In 1996 he completed his master's degree in fine arts from. He prefers to paint his pictures with coloured pencils and strong acrylic colours on cardboard. He often combines bright colors with gold, silver and brass colors. This makes the colors appear even more concise in their colorfulness. In addition to brushes and colored pencils, Pango also uses third-party materials such as newspapers or even used food ration stamps, which are used as Collage are woven into the pictures. His expressive images often revolve around Afro-Cuban faces or Cuban everyday life in all its, often unadorned, facets. His pictures are supported by equally expressive picture titles. Cuban art at its best! Pango is well known in Havana, one of the most famous Cuban artists.
