Über Zaida del Río
Zaida ist die «Grande Dame» der kubanischen Kunst. Sie ist eine der wichtigsten zeitgenössischen Künstlerinnen Kubas - und das seit bald 50 Jahren!
Sie wurde in Guadalupe geboren, studierte Kunst in Havanna und Paris und lebt und arbeitet seither in Havanna. Sie zeichnet, malt und gestaltet anmutige Bilder in ihrem eigenen unverkennbaren Stil.
Sie ist populär in Kuba wie kaum eine andere Malerin, alle kennen sie. Ihre Bilder oszillieren in ihrem eigenen Universum. Ihre Pinselführung ist kraftvoll, dicht und von hoher Intensität. Es entstehen ausdrucksstarke, farbenfrohe Bilder. Gleichzeitig wirken die Bilder zart und feminin; poetisch und mystisch; eine wahre Sinnesfülle; ein Augenschmaus.
Man muss Zaida und ihre Bilder mit den eigenen Augen sehen und ihre Aura erleben.
